Current Opportunities
Requirements for long term service:
Training and/or experience is required in the following areas:
- Evangelism and discipleship
Normally a member of ReachAcross is expected to have training or expereince in evangelism and discipling. Having adequate Bible knowledge and a personal faith is vital.
- Language acquisition
We encourage a minimum of two full years studying the target language. This is most often done on the field
- Cultural adaptation
Adapting to other cultures can be exciting but also a real challenge. You will normally be expected to take such training or have previous cross cultural experience
- Islamics
ReachAcross was brought into being by God to work exclusively among Muslims: see history. A course, or previous experiece of working among Muslims is required
- Team player
Are you able to work well with others? Do you understand your giftings, your strengths and weaknesses? How will you best fit into a team? Training in team ministry or previous experience of working in teams is required
- Personal qualifications
In many situations a skill or profession is needed for visa purposes and to provide a valuable service. We will seek to guide you in this area
- Support team
You need people who will regularly pray for you. Also, if your work does not provide adequate income, you will need to raise financial support. We will help you raise a support team for prayer and finances. Your Home Church or Fellowship should be an essential part of your support and accountability team

Current Opportunities
- It is most important that you do what God would have you do
- Part of that may be to take up one of the following opportunities for a certain time period
- Some of these opportunities are managed and directed by ReachAcross personnel. Others are directed and managed by agencies with whom ReachAcross partners
TEFL teaching (Teaching English as a Foreign Language): There are many opportunities in schools that ReachAcross is associated with. For those who are up to the challenge, there are opportunities to start new language schools
Water and irrigation engineer: To support a project in a desert area. This project helps local farmers with small-scale vegetable gardens. This posting requires proficiency in French
Sports director: To oversee and expand a Unihockey/Floorball programme. This project is in a very hot and humid country. Applicants must have a high level of fitness. Proficiency in French is essential
Bible translation: Much work still needs to be done among some of the unreached Muslim people groups we currently work with
Literacy: There is a huge need for literacy workers among many unreached Muslim people groups
Medical professions: Doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, and technicians are required for a rural Christian hospital. Long term staff are required to learn a local language. Medical electives are possible for medical students: English only is required.
Library worker: To support a local librarian and to develop programmes for the use of the library. The library is located in a rural setting. Proficiency in French is necessary. In addition, there may be a need to learn the local language
Primary teachers: To teach general education to mission workers' children. There are a number of schools that ReachAcross is associated with. Only English is required. Teaching experience is preferred
Evangelists and church planters: To work among the Soninke in West Africa with a view to encouraging and discipling the few, scattered believers
Bookshop manager and literature distributor: To oversee a bookshop in a West African country. To assist in the production and selling of multi-language literature
Member Care: There are several opportunities for experienced workers with giftings in the area of member care. Your role would be to support mission workers and their children, to provide orientation for new workers, and manage briefings and debriefings
